GARDEN GALLERY

Painter Produce came to life in 2011 with a quaint, little garden to feed a small family.  In 2012, we expanded by constructing a high tunnel (also known as a cold frame or hoop building).  Below is the constructed frame, followed by the finished building, and the tilled and planted garden.

All projects begin with a plan, and some of the best plans are penciled out on restaurant napkins!  We start all seedlings inside to be planted inside the high tunnel and outside in the big garden.  Small, vintage equipment is used to till the acreage and to plant the corn.

Fruits of our labor!  The first green tomatoes, tasseling sweet corn, baby watermelon, tomatoes, Walla Walla onions, white pumpkins, very long carrots, and beets were all a welcome site to bring from seed to harvest to market.

They look so good that you can almost taste them!  Monster bell pepper, fresh salad pickings, a 21 pound watermelon, crispiest carrots, radishes at their best, sweet onion, red tomatoes, crunchy cucumbers, eggplant, sweet corn, and a pumpkin just waiting to become a Jack-O-Lantern.

Market day!  "Fresh Produce" for sale roadside in Henry in June, and on our farm July thru October..... fresh picked goodness at your fingertips.  Once pumpkin picking season arrives, we pack a second trailer full of pumpkins of all sizes, winter squash, potatoes, and keeper onions.

Meet the growers:  Tracy, SharlaMae, and Dan showcasing a winter supply of PP Picante, Bread & Butter and Spicy Dill Pickles (we sell the cucumbers, not the pickles), Jalapeno Pepper Jelly, and Bonzelli's Best Pasta Sauce.
